About

My name is Scott K. Johnson, and I've been a science journalist (among other things) since 2011, primarily covering the Earth sciences and clean tech. I'm obsessed with learning about our home planet, and about engineering that brings us closer to living in sustainable balance with it.
I have a master's degree in groundwater, but shifted into climate science and renewable energy as a journalist, leaning into critical issues that motivate me. I started On Earth to write about the things that capture my curiosity most.
If you any have story requests, questions, or information to share, you can contact me at relay@sjon.earth or on Signal at sjonearth.26.
